ABOUT JOE CHAPMAN

Birth Place: Chicago, Illinois

High School: Bloom Township (1998-2002)

College: Marquette University ( 2002-2006)

Joe was born and raised in the South Side of Chicago. During his youth he often tagged along with his father and brother to different courts in the area, which ultimately opened his eyes to the game of basketball. The poverty stricken environment in which he grew up wasn’t always ideal, but Joe ultimately thrived with the structure that the game of basketball brought to his life. At Bloom, Joe was a 2x First Team All-State recipient, McDonald’s All-American Nominee, and holds the record for All-Time leading scorer. Joe then went on to play four years at Marquette, where he made a Final four appearance his Freshman year. He played alongside Dwyane Wade, Steve Novak, Travis Diener and Wes Matthews. He then spent 11 year playing professionally overseas in 8 different countries. During the Summers that Joe would spend at home he began to work at Marquette Camps, coach high school Summer league and train high school athletes. As more and more training opportunities began to arise he came to the decision to officially retire from professional basketball in 2016 and pursue training/mentoring full-time. In the 4 years that CBA has been operating, it has grown tremendously not only providing training, but also camps, leagues and club teams. Joe resides in the Ozaukee county area with his wife Carolyn and three sons Joseph, Stephan & Trevor.

As a coach, it's easy to lose sight of what is truly important. It's not always about the X's and O's or, about winning. Its about finding opportunities to learn, and grow from each circumstance. Preparing them not only for the game of basketball, but for all aspects of life. The most important thing is to teach players about life. Teach them how to be happy and, deal with obstacles. Teach them how to be a good friend and teammate, and to live with integrity and confidence.
